We start by assessing where the maintenance cost actually comes from — runtime versions that are out of support, architecture that makes every change expensive, manual release processes, duplicated data stores — and then sequence the changes that remove the most cost for the least operational risk. The application keeps running throughout.

Rising cloud spend is normally several small causes rather than one large one: over-provisioned instances, storage tiers that were never revisited, data transfer between regions, environments nobody turned off, and architectures that scale cost faster than they scale load. We assess current usage against what the workload actually needs, separate the quick configuration wins from the changes that require architectural work, and prioritize by saving against effort. The point is a lower run rate that stays low, not a one-off cleanup.

Document processing is one of the clearest cases for AI automation, because the work is high-volume, rule-bound, and measurable. Modern document intelligence can extract structured data from invoices, forms, contracts, and scanned paperwork with a review step for the cases it is not confident about. We start by measuring how much time the process actually consumes and where the errors occur, then automate the highest-volume path first so the saving is visible before the scope widens.

Not with a chatbot on the website. Start by finding where your service team spends time that is not judgement: looking up policy, drafting the same reply, summarizing a case history, routing a ticket to the right queue. AI agents and retrieval over your own knowledge base address those directly, and they can support your agents before they ever face a customer, which dramatically lowers the risk of getting it wrong in public. We scope a first use case narrow enough to prove value in weeks.

Data that is not usable is normally a platform problem rather than a volume problem — it is spread across systems, inconsistently modelled, or only reachable through reports nobody trusts. AI makes this worse before it makes it better, because retrieval quality is bounded by data quality. We assess what you hold and what decisions it should be supporting, then modernize the data platform enough to serve those decisions, so analytics, automation, and AI all draw on the same foundation.

Incrementally, and in a specific order. Moving from .NET Framework onto a current supported runtime removes licensing and maintenance overhead and is usually the first step, because it unlocks everything after it. Dependencies that do not have modern equivalents get isolated behind interfaces rather than blocking the migration. We keep the application deployable at every stage, so there is never a long branch and never a single cut-over that has to succeed first time.

By looking at labour and process cost rather than at AI capabilities. An AI assessment inventories the repetitive, high-volume work across your operation, estimates the time each process consumes, and scores which ones current models can handle reliably enough to deploy. Some will be worth automating now, some will not be worth it at any price, and saying which is which is the point of the exercise.
